Also acquired is Uthe Dichtungs- und Beschichtungstechnik GmbH (Lining and Sealing), Bueckeburg, Germany, as an expert installer of geosynthetics. |

The company itb Isolierungsgesellschaft für Tunnel und Bauwerke mbH becomes NAUE-itb Isolierungsgesellschaft für Tunnel und Bauwerke mbH & Co. KG taking over the activities of Naue Sealing. With BBG Bauberatung für Geokunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG, NAUE creates an independent service company offering geosynthetics engineering advice. The Romanian subsidiary Naue Romania in Bucharest is established. After amalgamation of the production plants and an audit by the RW TÜV, the Toenisberg geomembrane facility is certified to DIN ISO 9001 in addition to those certified in 1994. |

Naue Fasertechnik adds a new geogrid to its product range, Secugrid® Q and R made from PET/PES or PP for reinforcement applications. Carbofix®, an HDPE concrete protection lining system is also added. After a structural change, the distribution and installation company Carbofol Afdichtingssystemen b.v. becomes the distribution company Naue Benelux b.v. with its location in the Dutch Dongen. |

An independent British sales office is founded and has the company name Naue Geosynthetics Ltd. For the Polish market NAUE founded the new subsidiary Geosyntetyki Naue. Founding of the joint venture Anchor Lining Systems in South Africa for production and sales of HDPE concrete protection liners outside of Europe. An improved Combigrid® production process firmly bonds the Secutex® nonwoven fabric between the Secugrid® bars. |

Four meter wide Secudrain® drainage systems are produced in one process and the nonwoven layer is firmly attached over the entire surface, providing an even higher level of drainage capacity. |

Naue Fasertechnik GmbH & Co. KG changes its name to NAUE GmbH & Co. KG since the term Fasertechnik which means fibre technology - does not include the extrusion technology, a main part of our business. With the merging of the departments Luebbecke and Lemfoerde to the head quarter in Espelkamp-Fiestel there will be considerably shorter reaction times and an improved communication. |

Effective on May 18th the second Secugrid® production line officially starts producing in Adorf, Germany. Carbofol® MegaFriction - an improved geomembrane with high friction properties - is introduced to the market. |
