Secugrid®

Secugrid® geogrids are flat geogrids made from interlaced extruded PET or PP polymer bars. The high strength monolithic welded junctions provide soil reinforcement for all civil engineering applications, including environmental, infrastructure and marine engineering projects.

Secugrid® geogrids provide tensile reinforcement for:

  • base courses in railway and
  • highway foundation engineering
  • steep sided soil embankments and
  • retaining walls
  • foundation reinforcement of earth
  • embankments
  • load transfer of overlying soil
  • masses
  • spanning voids and sink holes
  • sludge lagoon closures
  • trench covers and beds

With tensile strengths ranging from 30 kN/m up to 800 kN/m, Secugrid® is suitable for the most demanding projects.

Secugrid® geogrids are superior soil reinforcement elements because they resist service tensile force loading with very low elongation. This results in an immediate force connection and interlocking with the fill soil without primary deformation. The monolithic flat polymer bars used to make Secugrid® are extremely robust and have excellent chemical resistance. Secugrid® is manufactured under the DIN ISO 9000 regime, ensuring its uniformity and high quality. It has passed the inspection of numerous recognized materials testing institutes.

Engineering system solutions using Secugrid® geogrids can save natural mineral resources by reducing base course thickness for pavements, and steep slope construction minimizing the need for large volumes of stabilizing soil fill. As Secugrid® is easy to handle, large quantities can be installed quickly with minimal demand on labour resources and lower installation costs.

Secugrid® can be installed during virtually all weather conditions without heavy equipment or special construction techniques. Standard cutting tools can be used for on-site trimming, and for steep sided slopes, various geometrical shapes can be formed where needed to best fit the location.

The Secugrid® geogrid products are extremely robust and easily installed, providing an economical alternative solution to traditional construction methods. The wide range of products, including both uniaxial and biaxial (R and Q type) geogrids manufactured from either PET or PP, makes Secugrid® an ideal structural component in practically all fields of civil and environmental engineering. These high-performance, low cost products provide simple, cost effective soil reinforcement, by strengthening naturally unstable soil and subsoil to withstand the loading conditions imposed by modern engineering demands.
